Well, why does anyone run for these postitions. Of course this helps on a resume as well as prestige and helps pay for their education. But, anyone that ever runs for this postion wants it for a resume builder and prestige, so it does not matter at all who wins.

That's another thing, does it really matter who wins this election? NO. Nothing changes year to year, just a new name. Student Government does not do anything important and has no power over the university, they are just there as pawns of the adminstration to say they give the students voice in how the university to shape it's policies.

And the email thing, if he wrote it so what? Every group tries to be the best there is, it is the nature of competition. Doesn't the democratic party want total domination of the government so it can set its own policies and disregard others? Of course, same goes with the Republicans, which is happening this very second. So it makes that in happens in micro governments as well.

So, the question I pose is, who cares?

Steve is an excellant candidate. TO anyone that is bashing him, you have no clue as to how well informed Steve is in regards to campus matters. He is a man of integrity and a man who will do what it takes to put this University first!

Jesse Collins did arrive in advance for the meeting, was well spoken and articulate, and made a throrough case for his candidacy for Student President/Regent. Does anyone know if Massara is planning on speaking to the group?

Anyone who knows anything about the Regent Hergert situation would conclude a wimp who won't stand up to Hergert is the last thing UNO needs again as a student regent. When student government insiders defend Massara they betray the resume-primping nature of what the leadership of that body currently represents. Any student with a shred of dignity would vote for change. I attended UNO, was a student senate speaker and editor of the Gateway. I can tell you in all honesty from speaking with current students at UNL, UNO and Kearney, the current leadership of UNO Student Government is the laughingstock of the entire university system. Reading the comments of Massara, the lame attacks his friends launch on Jesse Collins, and the indignation and sense of entitlement from Massara's elitiist friends is all the proof anyone needs that if Massara wins it will be a shame.

Steve Massara would have to murder a toddler for him not to be the best candidate. Jesse Collins put the final nail in his coffin by showing up late to the debate. Is this really the guy you want representing UNO by showing up late to Regents meetings?

On a related note, I’ve never fired or owned a gun in my life, but I’m going to announce here, that I am running to become head of the NRA!
