Don Stenberg, the right-wing nut know best as the guy who didn’t beat Nelson for Senate in 2000, has decided to enter the race against Nelson again.
Saying in part: “Because I am yearn’n for a whoopin, because I haven’t been labled a giant loser lately, and because I am, amazingly, the least weird of the possible GOP options, I have decided to be the sacrificial lamb to lose against Ben Nelson in 2006.”
He continued saying: “I lost in ‘96, and I lost again in ‘00. But Jesus said, ‘third times the charm’ and I believe him. Or was that ‘leaves of three let them be?’ I don’t remember. But I am confidant that when I sober up it will come back to me… and also that I am f~~ing running against Ben Nelson!”

Stenberg, 56, grew up in the small farm town of Tekamah, about 60 miles north of Omaha.
Donnie boy is no Hagel, and he’s certainly no Nelson… but at least I can’t say he’s no Tekamah.
Nebraska is a pretty GOP-heavy state so we can’t take any race for granted. But until Stenberg does something to show he has any credibility at all (like raise even 1/10 of Nelson’s money stash) I think we get to keep making fun of him.

The rough idea behind this post was: Don Stenberg is a joke. Nothing serious can be said about him. Let’s make a bunch of jokes about him, most of which are inside ones coming from college democrats parties or long hours working for candidates.
