Dear UNO Dems. I found your web page and thought I would post a comment on a disturbing and deadly undertaking of the Bush Administation. Being a Vietnam Veteran, and having experienced the lies which led us into athat war, and a mirror image of it since 9-11. I can no longer sit back and keep silent. Oh yes, I am a Democrat too.

I e-mailed this to Sens. Ben Nelson, and Chuck Hagel, Time International, A Venezuelan Daily Newspaper in Caracus, the International Herald Tribune, and several newspapres in the USA:

Having led the American people into another war of aggression in the Mideast, with a myriad of lies wrapped up in the Stars & Stripes, the U.S. government has a new military venture to soon to be announced July 1st, 2008, to satisfy it's desire for oil, coveting of our neighbors natural resources.

Who are we supposed to hate now? The people of Venezuela. Possessing a huge amount of the Western hemispheres oil deposits, the Bush Administration, heavily funded and influenced by a good ole boy network of oil kingpins, seems to be ready for yet another military invasion of a peaceful nation, to deny the Venezuelan People of their oil, self determination as a free democratic county, and eventually their lives should they refuse to kowtow, to a massive invasion force headed by Rear Admiral Joseph D. Kernan the current Commander of the Naval Special Warfare Command, (S.E.A.L.'s ) and the Special Operations component of the United States Navy, It was announced on April 24th, 2008 that RADM. Kernan will assume the command of the re-established U.S. Fourth Fleet. and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command.

The United States Navy's FOURTH FLEET, complete with a nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier, and is battle group of Destroyers, Submarines, & Supersonic Aircraft, it's mission? To combat terrorism, and illegal activities such as drug trafficking, and to send a message to Venezuela and the rest of the region via this 21st Century Gunboat Diplomacy, complete with a weapons that will make the atomic bombs dropped on the peoples of Hiroshima, and Nagasaki combined look like a toy. The aircraft carrier and it’s battle group will be used to threaten Venezuela, and it's citizens serve only to sow terror and death, but not to fight terrorism or illegal activities.

The Fourth Fleet created in 1943, to fight Nazi submarines, and protect US shipping lanes, was deactivated as unnecessary, in 1950. After 48 years of decommissioning, it has suddenly been reborn, how convenient, with oil prices soaring, and other industrial nations such as China, and India needing more oil to prosper, America will simply not tolerate just any ole third world nation to have, while we have not, simply no profit in that.

The head of the U.S. Southern Command, Admiral James Stavrides, said the USA needs to work harder in "the market of ideas to win the hearts and minds" of the regions people. "Win the hearts and minds" of the regions people?" Where have we heard that line before: Philippines, when we slaughtered millions to win their hearts & minds, Vietnam; millions dead, over 58,000 Americans G.I's returned in body bags, El Salvador, Nicaragua, even the tiny resort of Grenada.

Like the frog in the frying pan, slowly turn up the heat and it won't even know it is being cooked to its death. Sorry, I'm taking a stand now, my children and grandchildren will not learn to hate our neighbors to the South, nor kill fellow human beings so that the elites can steal the property of Venezuela.

Respectfully,

Raymond J. Zbylut

Sad to say, but we actually finished our event with 4,051 flags, as there were 10 more confirmed deaths between Monday night and Thursday morning.
