It was about him abandoning all of his principles. But one of those principles just happened to be his allegiance to the Demcoratic Party. You're absolutely right that it has to be about ideas, not labels. But if a party affiliation is just something that can be switched because a person doesn't think they can win - well, it becomes just a label to be switched due to mere political convenience. Tony Raimondo's ideas haven't changed. And he's been talking for 9 months about running... as a Republican. He's damn sure had his chance to explain himself. Course it wasn’t. You’re absolutely right that it has to be about ideas, not labels. But if a party affiliation is just something that can be switched because a person doesn’t think they can win - well, it becomes just a label to be switched due to mere political convenience.

Raimondo is a self-serving politician who will further mark the non-existence of the Nebraska Democratic Party. I would rather lose by fighting for my convictions than win like this.
