Kerrey’s Out

Disappointing news, for sure:

I have decided I will not leave The New School to become a candidate for the United States Senate in Nebraska. The reason is simple enough: For my family and me now is not the time for me to re-enter politics as a candidate.

You have to respect the reasons, and to be fair to BK, he was always upfront about his thought process.

But he is right that there are important challenges facing us, and those challenges do not just go away because Bob Kerrey decided not to run. We’ve had a lot of disappointment in the last couple of weeks, from Jim Esch’s ultimate decision not to run again, and Kerrey’s decision today. Now it’s time to move forward. To bring the message to the people of Nebraska. To start a new day.

Darn. I was expecting a triumphal march into Nebraska across his pork-barrel footbridge, like Caesar crossing the Rubicon.

Awww… Shucks! From up here in Minnesota - I had my fingers crossed on this race. You’re absolutely correct - Let’s move on and we’re up here hoping you’ll find a candidate to take that chair away from the GOP!

We’re rootin’ for you up here!! Don’t let us down!!
