despite being quite a nice joke to tell, i don't think this trial has a real chance to be started.
God (all religions-as far as i know- state that) is not a person and neither an industry or whatsoever, as a consequence i don't believe it fits the requirements of the law.
Chambers' aim is good because everybody can recognize that justice is slow not only due to the lazyness of judges, jurys etc but also for the fact that the arguments are sometimes absolutely, positively, incompetent. blame should be put on lawyers who pushes their client to sue everything on earth(and from now on, in heaven too) for silly reason, with the only purpose to ask for loads of money as a payback.

i'm looking forward to seeing how this goes on!

Since Nebraska and the US Court System has no authority over God, this case is ignorant and frivolous! Nebraska try electing better senators and not jokes to embarrass your state.

Actually, as the petition states, "This Honorable Court has jurisdiction by virtue of the fact that Defendant, being Omnipresent, is personally present in Douglas County."

Actually if god is omnipresent than this suit is wrongly filed in state court. God would the constitute a corporation or a monopoloy involved in interstate trade and should be brough to federal court ;p.

I find this delightful. Authors like Sam Harris have helped to liberate mainstream Americans from the choke-hold of the insane religious right. It's finally okay to laugh at people who claim they believe the universe is 6400 years old and that the righteous are going to be raptured bodily into heaven. Anyone who TRULY believes this nonsense is of course entitled to his or her beliefs -- that's part of the religious freedom guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution -- but the rest of us don't have to tiptoe around, treating these nuts' beliefs as sacred.
