Friday News & Notes

First of all, congratulations to Scott and Jane Kleeb on their new baby daughter!

There’s only so many times I can rehash the same old speculation about Chuck Hagel, but I’m more than happy to link to others’ speculation, so here you go:

Real Clear Politics not much new here, but still an interesting read.

Bob Novak (Douchebag of Liberty [™ Jon Stewart]) says Hagel is still considering a presidential bid and “soon will make his decision.” I’m still thinking it’s going to be around Labor Day, which puts us at just about a month until decision day. If he’s serious, though, he’ll do something that tips his hand in the interim, to soften the ground for a run.

Almost forgot that I hadn’t posted this here: Pat Flynn, a wingnut Republican who admits to getting into trouble with the law during his youth, entered the race for U.S. Senate in Nebraska. The Republican race promises to be a circus.

Hey Dave what do you think about the Dems caving to Bush again on the terrorism spy bill. Good lord!

This now sort off re-enforces my not nice words about Nelson on monday.

As least Obama, Biden, Dodd, and Clinton voted against it. They are all up a notch in my book.
