Interesting note to pass along from Smith Watch.
Adrian Smith’s father, Neal Smith, received payment of $141,666 from his son’s campaign, more than $116,000 of which is reported as “payroll processing.” (h/t Kyle)
Americablog is all over this, as well. Commenters there are looking over the FEC disclosures to see what these payments were, but it seems very suspect that Mr. Smith was paid that much for his services. The only larger recipient from Smith was his media firm.
Update: Seems it is a case of bizarre reporting by Smith’s campaign.
Does anyone remember any other politians getting into trouble for this? I am sure there has been, but I do not know where to look.
Do you feel stupid yet for passing rumors on that are not factual. You should be ashamed of yourself. How can we ever trust you again?

I’m guessing you are this commenter?
There was plenty of reason to be suspicious of these activities - though there doesn’t appear to be anything illegal going on, the mere fact that all of this money passed through his father’s hands is a little strange.
Now, can you show me where, in my post, I said something that was untrue?
