If Obama can even do half the things he wants to accomplish, this country would be a much better place. He is a phenomenal speaker and a seemingly honest, energetic, moral man. How great would it be to have faith in our government again? However, I have not evaluated all the candidates yet. It is too early for me to decide who to support.
One reason I like Obama is that he would probably produce more action on the tragedies occurring in Africa. Just because Africa doesn't produce our precious oil doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve some of our attention. Also, I believe that Obama would be less influenced by religious groups and big businesses, which don't have a place in politics in my opinion. I want to see a president who embraces stem cell research, women’s rights, and public opinion instead of exploiting misconceptions in order to please the far right. Gosh and if we could figure out a way to reduce the extreme military spending, I can only image how many schools could be built, how much research could be funded (ect, ect.), and seeing that ever growing debt disappear.
Furthermore, I want a president who will stop ignoring the threat of global warming. With the recent reports of cover ups, I think it is about time the largest producer of green house gases in world makes some changes. Destroying the world for future generations is NOT A FAMILY VALUE.

Sorry my thoughts are so random. I am just excited about the 2008 elections.

I'm not going to go off on some long diatribe about why I am such a huge Obama fan, but I do really implore you guys to check out his website (www.barackobama.com) and watch his videos. I understand if you decide to support other people... but if you watch him speak and feel the same way I do, think he is spark that can wake our country up like other great presidents in the past, think he has the right ideas and the right mentality to inspire... then check out his website, join the Omaha Metro supporters group I started and other groups in the area and use some of your free time to help him make our country evolve into something better.

There... enough ranting... damn man, Clancy's glasses of wine are LARGE, hahaha
