By a 299-128 vote, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, implementing recommendations from the 9/11 Commission. The bill would require cargo containers coming in to the United States to be inspected, and change the process by which Homeland Security funds are awarded. This bill will move to the Senate, where – upon passage – it will be sent to President Bush for approval.
Already, the House has instituted long-needed ethics reform, and has moved to implement the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations. Next, a vote on raising the minimum wage.
Lee Terry and Adrian Smith again put partisanship ahead of what’s right for the country, voting with the Republican leadership against this bill. Next time Lee Terry talks about keeping America safe, just remind him how he voted on this bill.
Update: Graphic Added by John

I added a graphic to your post dave… hope you don’t mind.
Not at all.
If anyone hasn’t guessed yet, I’m keeping track of how Nebraska’s House delegation is voting on the 100 Hour Plan. I may put up a scorecard at the end. So far, all three voted for the ethics reform package (it passed 430-1), but only Fortenberry voted for the earmark reforms and pay-as-you-go requirement. And Fortenberry was also the only yes vote on this bill.
According to the House Website Fortenberry actually voted with Terry and Smith AGAINST implementing the 9/11 commission recommendations. Which would be more true to form.
Anyone else notice the NE Media hasn’t asked any of them why they voted that way? They are getting a free pass except for this blog.
Fortenberry is listed as a “Yes” vote in the roll call linked above. He did vote against the minimum wage increase, however.
I agree, the Nebraska media really isn’t paying attention or holding any of our elected officials accountable. It certainly doesn’t surprise me, which is part of the reason why I am focusing on these votes.
