We’re all busy with school - finals and papers and other stuff, so things have been kind of slow around here lately. So here’s an open forum to speak your mind.
In the news lately:
Hal Daub is considering a run for Senate in 2008.
Chuck Hagel, who currently holds that seat, is considering a run for President in 2008.
The Iraq Study Group will recommend a gradual withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, getting most troops out by 2008.
John Bolton will no longer be the U.N. Ambassador for the United States.
Newly elected Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) wanted to “slug” Bush over an insensitive remark about Webb’s son.

I find it ironic that Republicans think that if you have a wife and kids, you can’t be gay. And, notice that after is says Jim Vokal the work gay is in quotes. That’s strange. Maybe Jim Vokal isn’t “gay” but maybe Jim Vokal has gay sex. Republicans probably don’t think the just having gay sex makes you gay…or do they? I dunno.
Now with the realization that Adrian Smith is gay, we’ve got more gay Republicans in Nebraska than gay Democrats. Weird? Uh yeah!
I will bet money that we never see Jim Vokal and Adrian Smith in the same room together.

I was wondering who people were interested in seeing run for President, who they would not vote for, and who has a good chance of winning. I have been so swamped with finals that I have not followed the news much.
I want Barack Obama to run. It’s looking more and more likely that he will. I’ll vote for the Democratic nominee for President, regardless, but I really don’t want to see Hillary Clinton get the nomination.
For the Republicans? I wouldn’t vote for any of them. Not even Hagel (who I want to see run, for purely political reasons). But I think it’s likely McCain will get the nomination. And he’s gone nuts on Iraq.

I apologize for hijacking your blog like this but I have a request…
I have a friend here in Wisconsin who is originally from Omaha…of course he is a Nebraska Huskers fan…
He has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Leukemia, and is in round two of chemo. So far he is holding his own, but his original prognosis was very grim.
What I am asking is for people…especially Nebraskans, to send him get well cards. I began this campaign last week with some success, and plan to deluge the hospital volunteer mail room with well wishes sent to Jim.
If any of you could help me out, please email me. I will give you his address then. I apologize again for going way off topic on your blog, but it is for a good reason.

межнациональные споры, скандалы и обиды. Неужели она кому-то выгодна и приносит пользу? Как бороться с такими злоумышленниками, как maidan.org.ua? Есть ли
реальные методы борьбы? Ведь в других развитых странах такая “рекламная акция” не осталась бы без внимания первых лиц. Да что первых лиц, каждый бы уже
