One day after the Kleeb campaign released to the press internal polling data indicating he was ahead of Adrian Smith among likely voters, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee decided to make a sizable media buy.
You can read an analysis of the poll over at Daily Kos and if you’re desperate for more analysis, you can check out Leavenworth Street.
Outside observers should always be suspicious of internal polls, but there are a few reasons to be optimistic that this race is a dead heat.
1) The DCCC is spending $100,000 to buy TV ads in the 3rd District. You don’t usually see them come in unless they think there is a shot of winning.
2) Club for Growth is dumping another $80,000 into the race for Adrian Smith. Club for Growth wouldn’t be spending more money if they thought the race was over.
It looks like this race could go down to the wire.

Dems buy TV time for Kleeb in Nebraska’s 3rd District - Kearney Hub
Sensing that Democrat Scott Kleeb has a legitimate chance to win Nebraska’s 3rd District congressional seat, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has bought $100,000 worth of TV ads to help him beat Republican state Sen. Adrian Smith.
The move comes as Republicans are scaling back television advertising in three highly contested races in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Ohio.
In contrast, Democrats are expanding the number of districts where they are advertising - including Nebraska’s 3rd.

Did anyone else hear that Bush was going to endorse Adrian Smith in hopes for the Republicans to pull ahead? I really hope this is just a rumor. I think Bush has enough to do for his duties as a president, including taking care of the war, which is taking a turn for the worst.
Okay, I guess it is official that our “Cheerleader-in- Chief” Bush is coming to NE to try to keep the Republican seats. I agree with Chad that it is clearly becuase of 12 young Democrats who helped tip the scales toward Democrat last weekend. Good work folks!
