If you’ve been to the UNO College Democrats Blog before, then you’ll notice things look a little different.
If you’ve been a loyal reader of our blog since 2004, then you may recall my post about the University of Nebraska - Omaha redesigning its website. If you’re a youngster (freshman/sophomore), you may not remember the old UNO website. At the time, I called the redesign a “facelift (and a boob job)”. So, in keeping with tradition and pop culture (i.e. Nip/Tuck), the UNO College Democrats Blog is undergoing a little cosmetic surgery of its own.
How about I bore you with some technical details for a second. We’ve expanded the dimensions of the blog (the bust size, if you will) so that we can fit more content and features on the page. We’ll be adding more features as time goes on, but we’d also like some reader input.
So, tell me what you don’t like about yourself… eh, I mean the blog.
In the comments section, let us know what you don’t like about the new design, what features you’d like to see added, etc. We’re here to please you.
Good work chief-
your new breasts (er, blog) is plush with all kinds of cool new features! One thing that would make me very happy though is a poll. That way I don’t float my more controversial ideas over the ‘internet’ before they are implemented. Or so people can decide what I should be for halloween.
Okay. So we have a poll. To celebrate our poll and to highlight it a bit, I will commit myself to dress as whatever you, the people, say. The voting will close tomorrow at 3pm (to give me time to take the necessary steps to fulfill my promise). T-minus 24 hours…go vote!
What happens if “other” is chosen.
Then you get to decide dave. or i do. either way
you guys are serious nerds.
(Nice work on the update!)
I sure thought I was doing something special adding a “Google Search” to the New Nebraska Network. Damn you, UNO College Democrats Blog, for being so pretty and for stealing my thunder once again.
It will all be worth it, though, if Cody has to shave his head for Halloween. I’d even chip-in for the red stocking cap.
The great:
Just about everything. Weather, rss feeds (now i can reference upcoming events to my active desktop calendar), wider is better(little more web 2.0 look). Wordpress 2.0, yay!
The good:
There isn’t anything I really dislike so this is the ‘other’ catagory. I’d like to see the site navigation stuff worked into the top of the site (where the blog and archive buttons are now) and have that logo with new navigation buttons correspond with the one on the homepage (minus the word ‘blog’).
Great alround though, now i can make use of my insanely ridiculously high resolution.
Web 2.0? Jared, your such a geek. I love it. I guess that makes me a geek too because I know what your talking about. I don’t think it’s a true Web 2.0 look. It needs more gradients.
And maybe some more AJAX.
I’m glad you like the new RSS feed for the calendar. I’m thinking sometime down the future we may transition to the Google Calendar.
There are some things that need to be polished up, and I’m sure we’ll add some new features to the website as soon as we figure out what those are.
