Apparently Jon Bruning has decided that television commercials can be used for more than just protecting kids from child predators (and congressmen). Although he doesn’t have a challenger from the Democratic Party in his race for Attorney General, Bruning is launcing a state-wide advertising blitz.
Attorney General Jon Bruning’s re-election campaign began airing a sixty-second television commercial today in five of Nebraska’s major media markets, including Omaha, Lincoln-Hastings-Kearney, North Platte, Sioux City and Scottsbluff.
The ad, titled “Roots in Bruning,” features members of Bruning’s family and details the Attorney General’s deep roots in the town of Bruning, NE.
Since we don’t have anyone to run against him, a number of UNO Democrats have decided to write in John Owens-Ream for Attorney General. Maybe Bruning is afraid this is a real challenge?
In all seriousness, though, Bruning is likely setting up a run for Senate in 2008. Of course this is assuming Chuck Hagel will retire from the seat to run for VP or President. Maybe we could get our esteemed mayor to run on the Democratic ticket if that happens?
I thought it was silly that he had commercials with no opponent.
that’s right. I put the pressure on, launching my campaign (well really Dave launched it) on a Monday on facebook. By Tuesday he was running adds.
I bet his polling is showing me closing in.
This is going to be a nail-biter of a race folks.
