I agree that the Republican party has gotten out of control and is full of extremism; however, I'm not sure if Kate Witek is someone who believes in the ideals of the Democratic Party. Sure, the Democratic Party is open to all comers but are we going to be influenced to give up on some of our major goals in order to get a few more votes or someone in office with a (D) next to their name? Maybe I'm an idealist, but I believe the Democratic Party has certain principles we believe in that I'm just not convinced Kate Witek holds. So maybe moderate Republicans can break away from the GOP and form a new party but I'm sorry, just because a Republican isn't a complete nut doesn't make them a Democrat.

she said that the GOP in Nebraska has lost its way,

Kate has lost her mind. Chuck (Kerrey) Hagel should cross right along with her. Addition by subtraction if both did.

I propose a trade. We'll take Lieberman and Ben Nelson. You guys take Bob Hagel and Teddy McCain.
