Sure, the Democratic Party is open to all comers but are we going to be influenced to give up on some of our major goals in order to get a few more votes or someone in office with a (D) next to their name? Maybe I'm an idealist, but I believe the Democratic Party has certain principles we believe in that I'm just not convinced Kate Witek holds. So maybe moderate Republicans can break away from the GOP and form a new party but I'm sorry, just because a Republican isn't a complete nut doesn't make them a Democrat.
