Dave-

The Club for Growth was not behind Jeff Fortenberry in 2004. Their candidate was Greg Ruhle (sp?), but it seemed like their real goal was to keep Curt Bromm off the ballot. In that, they succeeded.

Still, let's leave the misinformation to right-wing radio.

2 days left, everyone!!

What else was in the news?

Porter Goss resigned because of a scandal invloving Republican lobbyists, no bid contracts, prostitutes and convicted felon Duke Cunningham at the Watergate Hotel.

I'm not going to jinx anything by predicting any of the downticket nonpartisan races. So here are my predictions for the Republican ticket, since I don't care if I jinx them:

Governor: Tom Osborne. I'm going against my own hopes here, because in the end, I think Osborne's going to be able to get more supporters to the polls.

Senate: Pete Ricketts. I trust polling. Especially when the poll shows a 2-to-1 advantage on his nearest competitor.

NE-02: Steve Laird. Okay, I'm kidding. But it would be funny, wouldn't it?

NE-03: Adrian Smith. Just like in 2004, an open seat nomination is carried by the Club For Growth. Can the 3rd District avoid repeating 2004's result and send Scott Kleeb to Congress?
