On November 9, 2004 the first post on this blog was made. The title of that post was We love free publicity! It was a relatively short post (38 words), but every journey begins with one step.
Over the past year, there have been 145 posts and over 1700 comments made by our loyal readers. It’s feasible (and probably accurate) to say the UNO College Democrats Blog is the most active blog in the State of Nebraska.
Today, we celebrate the blog’s birthday. To do that, we’re having a Blog-A-Thon (24 posts in 24 hours). This is the first post. Throughout the day, we’ll have posts on a variety of subjects by a variety of individuals. This post will stay at the top of the blog throughout the day. You will see the most recent posts below this entry.
If this is your first visit to the blog, welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay.
This post will also serve another purpose. It will be the blog’s digital birthday card. Please sign the card by placing a comment. You can just put your name and if you want, leave a message.
r renner, will you marry me?

Hey guys,
I’m with the Harvard College Democrats – heard about your anniversary and just wanted to drop by and say congrats on a successful year! Looks like you guys have really been dominating. Happy birthday…
Congratulations to the most active organization on campus on this milestone for an amazing blog. Voters in New Jersey and Virginia have celebrated this moment by electing new governors, both Democrats!
Congratulations to the UNO College Democrats and Happy Birthday to the Blog. It is an honor for me to be apart of the UNO College Democrats. Anyways, take care and thanks!

Happy Belated Birthday UNO College Dems Blog!
I am continually impressed with the breadth of issues discussed in this innovative forum and the volume of provocative comments. Additionally, the level of humor balanced with serious political and social issues creates an environment that makes politics fun. I like to think of the UNO YD Blog as our own online local version of the Daily Show.
Congratulations on creating a tool to help more young people enter into our civil discourse, you are all to be commended.
Congratulations to all of you for an amazing blog year. I find it interesting that the so called “Blog for Nebraska” made a post knocking the UNO blog.

Someone name Heath Mello made reference to this blog being the second most active blog in NE. Well, here’s a little something for you Mr. Heath, your blog sucks, and more people read this one – I’m sure who ever runs this blog can prove it – and you cannot.
Plus, the UNO Democrats don’t pay some stupid company $5,000 a month to keep their blog and website going. And by the way, the NDP site sucks. The year is not 1898…it’s 2005.
I am happy with the blog even though I think it is censored to an extent. Some statements may be out of context, outrageous, and unintelligible but don’t those people have a right to display their stupidity and exercise their first amendment right? Hope this does not get deleted. This is just an observation and should not be characterized in any other manner to protect the innocent.
Great blog, I’m making more time to read the rest of your posts.
. Keep up the good writing and thanks for your time and efforts writing.
Came here by accident through google search. Great blog.
