11 - Nebraska’s Second District can lead this nation to new heights

Jim Esch

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of your blog-a-thon. I believe we are at a unique point in our history. Because of growing public unrest and the absence of positive, progressive leadership, our generation has the opportunity to make real changes and the shape the future. I want to start that change right here in Nebraska’s 2nd District and this post gives a brief outline of how we can do it.

One of the greatest qualities of Nebraskans is our independent spirit. It is this spirit that I want to bring to Washington. I don’t see America in terms of red states or blue states, Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals, I simply see us as Americans.

We all want the same things – decent jobs, good schools, affordable healthcare, safe communities, inexpensive energy, and a secure retirement. Because I believe that we are more the same than we are different - I want to be a leader that finds the best solutions for all of us.

I believe Nebraska’s Second District can lead this nation to new heights.

Our common sense approach, our Midwestern values, our work ethic and willingness to work together, is what this nation needs. Help me bring this vision to Washington, help me build a better America, help me give the generations to follow a bright future

Thanks again.

Sincerely

Jim Esch

    JIm,

YOu are absoultely right about the 2nd CD but most importantly Ward @ or North Omaha. According to figures that I got from the NDP. Ward 2 is one of the most partisan areas in the State of Nebraska. There is tremendopus untapped political power in my hood.

Please do not make the mistake of other candidates before you and ignore this area. Walk North O ask for our vote ask us to volunteer and most importantly talk about issues that matter to us and have some diversity on your staff.

    Good luck with your race.

Good luck, Jim, with this campaign. I agree wholeheartedly with what Robin is saying. On a national level, too, we need to realize that African Americans are the most loyal constituency we have, but lately, the party has been ignoring their concerns. And when you do that, people just start staying home. That’s true with any group. Don’t forget about your base, because without them, you don’t stand a chance.

I heard some of your ideas when you came to our meeting and I think you have some good things to say. I hope that the national party will not ignore you like they ignored Thompson and Conneally in 2004. I have a feeling that Howard Dean will be less likely to do so.

Just one suggestion: an online volunteer form would be more convenient than printing off a form from the website.
