First Meeting - A Huge Success

Last night, the College Democrats had the first meeting of the new semester.

We had over 60 people attend the meeting. I was very excited to see so many new faces, and I’m really excited about this upcoming year.

I will try and get some pictures uploaded as soon as possible. This post is open for discussion. Please discuss what you thought of the meeting, what you think the College Democrats should do this semester, etc.

Just a reminder, our next meeting is Monday, August 29th at 8pm in the Milo Bail Student Center. If you are interested in joining, it’s not too late. Click here to contact us, and we will send you additional information about the group.

The first meeting of the semester of UNO was a huge success. It was great to see all the new faces and hear the excitement in the voices of so many Young Democrats and Independents. The potential speakers for UNO Dems such as Mayor Fahey and Sen. Nelson sound cool and it was really fun to go out to Clancy’s after the meeting and just talk with other new students and make new friends.

The douglas county democratic party meetings don’t get 60 people at them, even much more “liberal” campuses like Chreighton, Carlton, WashU, etc, don’t get 60 people at their first meeting. I have a feeling this is the start of an outpooring of liberal activism on campus.

New people, especially new people to this blog, what made you want to come? Did you see fliers? Did you see the facebook announcements? Was your high school one of the ones we visited last year? Did a friend bring you?

This is everyone’s web site and I look foward to hearing from all the new voices on campus!

UNO isn’t a liberal campus? Then again, isn’t every campus a liberal campus?
