An article about the law breaking University of Nebraska Regent David Hergert appeared in today’s Omaha World-Herald.
Hergert still says he won’t quit - Omaha World-Herald
A quote by Hergert in the story was very disturbing.
“I paid the penalties, and as far as I’m concerned, the issue is closed.”
No, Mr. Hergert the issue is not closed. Just because you “paid the penalties” doesn’t absolve you of your sins. I think Mr. Hergert is forgetting the fact that he broke the law. Hergert is also forgetting the fact that there is an ongoing criminal investigation. Maybe he’ll try and pay his way out of that mess too.
This clown is an embarrassment to himself, his constituents, and the university. It’s a shame that this man is held to a different standard than the students in the University of Nebraska system. When is the next Board of Regents meeting at UNO? I’m up for a good protest!
