Here is some content from the NDP Blog. It includes a Y.R.'s comments on Catholic Democrats and Vince's rather clever response. Funniest post I've read all week.

We need more pro-life Catholic politicians like Matt Connealy who are against aborting fetuses but support aborting stem-cell embryos in order to create an evil clone-race of circus clowns who will be able to infiltrate the county carnivals and use their infamous mind blasters to kill off all of the hateful Republicans and replace their bigoted bodies with the preprogrammed souls of peace-loving progressive activists.
C…O…Double-N…E…A…L…Y…CONNEALY!

We understand how embarrassed and ashamed you are to be a young repub, but at some point we may have to post your name for you, (or your mom’s since it is her computer).

I have not been on the metro today but, the news says that they have step up security since the last attack. I felt pretty safe when I arrived and I haven't heard anyone express concern.

People are going on about their lives and we should.

New Supreme Court nominee, Karl Rove caught in the middle of one if his schemes, and Bush still being a very very bad man. But we all know the real news of this past weeek, which of course was.....The Yankees taking over first place for a full day!!!!
I realize how amazing this is. As a Yankee fan I would like to wonder what took so long. I propose the delay was simply another conspiracy spear-headed by Mr. Karl Rove. Lets face it folks, Rove ain't got nothin' on Jeter. J-E-T-E-R...JETER!
as far as i'm concerned he's our chance for not only a world champioinship, but also the White House in '08. What do you all think?

The terrorist killed 3,000 americans on 9/11. That scares me. President Bush goin on the offensive not the defensive and killing terrorist over there is a hell of alot better than people over here getting killed. Either way you look at it Diane he is doing the job you and I don't want to do. So maybe you should start showing your appreciation instead of spewing your hatred of a man who is trying to keep this country safe even people like you who hate him.

Gimme bin Ladin. Show me WMD. Attacking Iraq for 9-11 is like someone attacking the US for the KKK. Give me an exit strategy. I could go on and on.

One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line.”
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998.

“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.”
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.

“Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face.”
Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.

“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.”
Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.”
Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.

“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.”
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.

“Hussein has … chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies.”
Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999.

“There is no doubt that . Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies.”
Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001.

“We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them.”
Sen. Carl Levin (d, MI), Sept. 19, 2002.

“We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.”
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

“Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seing and developing weapons of mass destruction.”
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

“The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons…”
Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002.

“I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.”
Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002.

“There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years . We also should remember we have alway s underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.”
Sen. Jay Rockerfeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002,

“He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do.”
Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002.

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

“We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction. “[W]ithout question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime … He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. And now he has continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction … So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real …
Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.

I'm tired of this blog. How many people here are actually members that come to our meetings or the one in Lincoln?

Now I'm not saying that other people can't read and post the blog, but they have completely taken over. This is the first time I've even looked at it in a month, and it's still the same stupid people (not everyone) who have nothing better to do than troll here all day. UGH!

Abbey- It sucks that you feel that way, but it's understandable. Just don't let the constant, unproductive chattering of a few ruin this site for everyone else. With most students away from campus, this site and this organization's best days still lay ahead of it.

As for Joe...seriously brother, give it up. Feel free to post coherent thoughts but enough with your petty and juvenile antics. And for now on, for Christ's sake, just post a link to wherever you're lifting this redundant and unimpressive one card up your sleeve - these supposedly damning Democratic quotes about Iraq. They serve only to cover-up your own costly and unjustifiable ignorance that has contributed to almost 1800 dead Americans whose honorable service and sacrifice demand honorable debate, not childish attention-grabbing.

Get a life, and find somewhere else on the internet for your masturbatory self-amusement. How cheap to use our tolerance and actual desire for free discussion, not to mention our faith in community, against us in such a constant display of your own self-hate. Just let it go. Move on. For your own sake even more than everyone else who frequents this blog. It's time.

u know I have said nice things to you guys. I try and have a good disscussion with Robin about her trip to D.C. and what I get in return is Diane Hayes attacking me. I have made an attempt to create civil attitudes toward this blog and I get attacks and cheap shots in return.

It sucks when everytime you come here to this blog you have to hear about someone else's point of view and they preach it down you throat and they aren't nice about it. That is how I feel every time I step into a college class room. That is how I feel all the time. You only have to experience it once in a while on your own blog. Deal with it Kyle.

Hey guys,
I am back. I had a pretty Decent time the Convention was good.
My only gripe make it a week like YDA"s so that we aren't in a constant state of Rush.

We didn't win Chapter of the year. Maine got that but I got some wonderful ideas from the other chapters that I want to introduce to us and I made some contacts in big states, small ones red ones and blue ones.

I have met some great people who we might be able to get to come to Nebraska. I don't want to start name dropping we will wait for the first meeting to do that.

joe you said "It sucks when everytime you come here to this blog you have to hear about someone else’s point of view and they preach it down you throat and they aren’t nice about it. Now I hope that I don't ruin what civility that you and I have formed but, I have to point out the obvious and that is that you are blogging on a College Democrat Blog. So, You are going to get a partisian (even if very truthful) point of view.

As for feeling outnumbered. Welcome to our world on our campus and yet, We keep going. Even when people call us names accuse us of not loving our country, rip our posters down, Deface our posters etc.

We keep going because we truly believe that we have right on our side. One more thing. I find it interesting that we don't cencor you but you still feel attacked or unheard.

I don't see the UNO College Republicans or Yung Republicans with a blog and , Even if they do I wonder how many of us would be welcomed there uncencored to give a democratic point of view?

I welcome the debate but I think too many times and yes I have been guilty of this it is brought down to its' lowest common demonator.

I agree Robin and I will try and be more civil on this blog. But I do not like when for example when I was talking to you the other day about D.C. when Diane Hayes attacked me and what I was saying when I said nothing to her and nothing partisan at all. I just commented about the bombings in London.

See,

You and I have come to an understanding and I think that is a start. Now all of us have to make an effort to get our political points across as civil as possible. I am sure that all of us here will make the effort.

Hello Guys,

I am finally back from all of my Democratic travels and I wanted to say Congratulations to everyone. Our chapter won YDA"S Best Local or State Event for our Presidential protest of Bush's visit to Omaha in Febr.

So keep up the great work and let's turn it up a few degrees this semester.

One more thing the NDP Black Caucus will be meeting at the UNMC clinic on 50th and Ames This sat from 11:30 until 1:00 pm.
I would love to see more young Democrats show up to guide the direction of the caucus.
