I’m sorry I’ve been M.I.A. for the past week. The election (and school) has kept me very busy
So what are everyone’s thoughts on the election? Here is your chance to express your opinions and maybe make predictions for the general election in May.

I think the election went well overall. There were a few disappointments highlighed by Anne Boyle’s second place finish. But even then she was only beaten by 200 or so votes. Hopefully the turnout will be greater for the general and we can pick a few up. Fehey’s performance was very impressive, and it really doesn’t look like we have to worry much about the race for mayor. That will give us more time to volunteer for City Counsel candidates. Another bright spot I thought was Betger’s third plce finish in the Kraft/Suttle race. Whomever you support in that race, it will at least be a Democrat, which is a victory in and of itself.
all for now-
cody
I was pleased with most of the primary results. I do wonder why Mayor Fahey’s campaign spending almost $24/vote in the primary did not get more media attention…other than the fact that all of the local media got a major chunk of that campaign spending. Will be interesting to see if Friend can persuade Mayor Fahey to debate…although highly unlikely to produce any change in expected results. BTW, some of the postings on Councilman Vokal’s sexuality seem almost libelous…with his temper I wouldn’t be suprised to see formal complaints made to UNO Chancellor’s Office and your webhosting company…might be a good idea to remove them as they do nothing to help Ann Boyle.
the truth hurts
Complaints regarding an issue that clearly has relevance in this election season? I personally don’t know Mr. Vokal or anything of his past, but there seems to be quite a large group of people who have had personal experience with Mr. Vokal. Until he can prove otherwise or show these people are not credible, this topic is relevant and should be continued on a larger scale. We are talking about electing a man who is to represent a good section of Omaha. There is no shame in questioning his character, especially if there is some evidence to suggest he is not as clean as he says. And additionally, this blog is here so people can post what they think. Those running this blog pride themselves in the fact that nothing has been censored, nor will it be. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. Embrace!
Spencer:
1. accusing a man of doing something he has done before is hardly libelous (sending an officer to fine someone for simply using freedom of speech).
2. If what you think is libelous is ‘outing’ someone then I take even more offense. Being outed is only a defimation of character in the twisted minds of those who think homosexuality is some sort of disease or communist atheist plot.
Spencer: Nebraskans passed the defense of marriage act to the tune of 85% of the voters. You really think a candidate’s sexuality isn’t an issue in the midwest? In my book, if you take conservative dollars and promote yourself as a conservative republican, you better damn well have led a life that will stand up to examination.
On the election overall:
No one, other than those being paid by other campaigns, has any right to not be volunteering for Anne Boyle. She is by far the best candidate in all of the races, she is an outstanding woman. She is the only Democrat who is still running to replace a republican. We freak’n need her!
We need your help!
Anne Boyle’s campaign is about to put on the full-court-press to win this election. We’re going to be working as hard as we can over the next 30+ days — knocking on doors, making phone calls, holding signs at busy intersections, writing letters and postcards, etc.
Please — please! — volunteer what time you have to help Anne! Go to her Web site at http://www.anneboyle05.com, fill out the volunteer form, and we’ll get back to you very quickly. Let us know what time you have, and what you would like to do.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot!

dont get me wrong, i love anne boyle and she will be great when she is elected, but she better be careful with all the advertising she is doing. At one point i was getting something in the mail everyday, and that can turn some voters off
