If you haven’t been to the University of Nebraska – Omaha website lately, you are in for a suprise.
Instead of the website looking unique, the UNO website is now the ugly cousin of the UNL website.
UNO has changed the look of the website but they still haven’t fixed the problem on the Clubs and Organizations page. If you visit that website and scroll down to “Special Interest Groups”, you will find the problem. All of the organizations are in alphabetical order except for one, the College Democrats. I’m not sure what alphabet they are using, but the last time I checked “C” came way before “U”. When will the discrimination of the College Democrats stop?
What will it take for the College Democrats to get listed above the College Republicans? Where is the UNO Gateway? They should be investigating this blatant discrimination!
On a much lighter note, has anyone else noticed that you must type in “www.unomaha.edu” in your browser? If you type in “unomaha.edu” without the “www”, it will not work. Maybe the techies at the University can fix this problem after they fix the alphabetizing problem.
UPDATE: After emailing the university, the error on the Clubs and Organizations has been fixed (and they even linked to our website). If you weren’t able to see the error, click here for a screen shot of the old page.
Actually, I just checked. You guys are up there. (As well as the College Republicans. Fair enough.) There’s a link to your main website there.
For the Gateway, though, it’s the first one under the “Media and Entertainment” banner.
I know, it’s late, (And given the level of flak I’ve caught here, I’ll probably catch more for this) but Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
To you as well a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks for the gateway link. Of course we’re on the website, but you must admit its sorta funny that we are the only non-alphabetically listed club on the page- smack dab at the end.
But a happy xmas and nyear all the same!
oops I didn’t check back before writing the reply. I see now that the link has been fixed. Did you have anything to do with it or do you know who did? That’s cool that they noticed it, and linked this site too. If you didn’t see it beforehand, the unodems were listed after all the other orgs even though all the others were in alphabetical order. I didn’t feal too slighted, but it was funny.
I’ll see about updating the whole post thread- though considering how many people read this blog, it’s probably not really needed.
Not really, John. And thanks for the Christmas wishes.
Whoops, hit enter too fast. I meant I had nothing to do with the website’s fixing.
